Nuts TV placeholder appears on channel 42 and Thomas Cook TV removed

Channel 41 – former home of Thomas Cook TV – has been removed from the EPG. A placeholder for Nuts TV has appeared on channel 42 – nothing is currently broadcasting on this channel yet. Nuts TV launches on the 12th September and will air 9pm to 1am. Television X has also changed it’s name slightly – the EPG now reads Television X/Red Hot. You may need to rescan your box to see these changes.

Thomas Cook TV closes on Freeview

Not long after it launched on Freeview, it has gone – Thomas Cook TV has stopped broadcasting on the platform. The DTT licence is thought to have expired at the end of August 2007 – hence why it’s off-air. Nuts TV will be launching in September and was originally thought to be sharing bandwidth with Thomas Cook TV, but perhaps they have utilised all of the space for Nuts TV. The placeholder MHEG for Thomas Cook TV still appears in “off-air” hours – but a blank screen shows instead of the video stream when it is meant to be on-air. Watch this space.
