The name change has taken place following Sky’s recent buyout of the Virgin-owned Living TV Group.

Channel One programming remains largely the same as Virgin1.

Some Comedy Central HD content will be available On Demand as well.

The channel launched on Sky last month.

Vintage TV’s official website says the channel will be “introducing music television as never before seen: reviving the sights and sounds of yesterday and preserving the songs which will live forever”.

It will be available on channel 369.

Following the launch of the HD channel, Sky Sports News now broadcasts in widescreen for the first time in its history and graphics have been modified extensively to provide more information and sharper picture quality.

The SD version of Sky Sports News is also now in widescreen and also has the same new graphics as the HD channel.

The channel got a new look today and broadcasts in widescreen for the first time, but the channel is only now available on Sky, cable and no longer available on Freeview.

Sky Sports News has been replaced with Sky3 +1 on Freeview. There’s currently a message on Freeview saying viewers should rescan their boxes to receive Sky3 +1.

Sky3 +1 is on Freeview channel 44 after you rescan.

Sky had previously announced the closure of these channels so they can concentrate on providing other services.

ITV1 HD is already available, but they say ITV2 HD will launch in October and ITV3 HD & ITV4 HD will launch shortly afterwards. It’s also been announced ITV1 +1 (the service that was originally planned some time ago but never launched) will finally make an appearance in the first quarter of 2011.

The channels will launch on Sky, but it’s thought ITV are in negotiations with other providers such as Virgin Media as well.

Sky Sports HD 1 is on channel 517 and Sky Sports HD 2 is on channel 518.

Sky Movies HD Premiere is on channel 431, Sky Movies HD Showcase is on channel 433, Sky Movies HD Comedy is on channel 434, Sky Movies HD Action & Adventure is on channel 435, Sky Movies HD Family is on channel 436, Sky Movies HD Crime & Thriller is on channel 437, Sky Movies HD Drama & Romance is on channel 438, Sky Movies HD Sci-Fi & Horror is on channel 439, Sky Movies HD Modern Greats is on channel 440 and Sky Movies HD Indie is on channel 442.

The Sky Premium HD bundle is available which costs £7 a month (per set top box) for all of the above channels.

The Film4 channels will be reshuffled in the Virgin Media EPG to make way for the launch of Film4 HD – Film4 will be on channel 428, Film4 HD will be on channel 429 and Film4 +1 will be on channel 430.

Film4 HD will not be available on Sky from launch.

In a report on C21Media a Sky spokesman is quoted as saying “in light of our strategy of doing fewer things better, we have begun a consultation with staff about the planned closure of Sky Real Lives. By focusing content investment on those channels that offer greater reach and exposure, we believe we can better meet customer demands”.

C21Media say “Sky is currently in discussion with the channel’s staff with a view to shuttering the net this summer, in a bid to focus on its flagship entertainment channels, Sky1 and Sky2″.
