Film4 HD launches 20th July

Film4 HD will launch on Virgin Media on the 20th July on channel 429.

The Film4 channels will be reshuffled in the Virgin Media EPG to make way for the launch of Film4 HD – Film4 will be on channel 428, Film4 HD will be on channel 429 and Film4 +1 will be on channel 430.

Film4 HD will not be available on Sky from launch.

Film4 extended broadcast hours

Film4 has extended it’s broadcast hours as of today. From now on, Film4 will be on air from 11am instead of 1pm, and Film4 +1 will be on air from 12pm instead of 2pm. Film4 is available on Freeview, Virgin Media and Sky. Film4 +1 is available on Virgin Media and Sky.

Film4 extended hours from 23rd May

It was initially announced quite a long time ago, but Film4 have finally now confirmed the date they are extending their broadcast hours. From Saturday 23rd May, Film4 will start at 11am (instead of the current 1pm start time). This change affects all platforms – Freeview, Virgin Media and Sky.

Film4 to extend broadcast hours

Film4 will broadcast from 12pm every day from the 30th March. Film4 currently broadcasts from 1pm daily. Film4 is available on Freeview and Virgin Media.

Film4 hours to be extended

Film4′s broadcasting hours will be extended so the channel will now start at 11am daily. This will give them two extra hours a day. The change will happen in March. As Film4 currently timeshares with Gems TV on Freeview it’s not known what effect this will have on Gems TV’s broadcast hours. It’s thought Channel 4′s decision to add 2 hours to Film4′s hours is has been made to boost their submission for one of the HD slots on Freeview to show they are committed to the channel. Film4′s hours will be extended on Virgin Media as well.

Film4 moves to channel 15

Film4 on Freeview will move to a new channel number from the 3rd February (tomorrow). Film4 is moving from channel 32 to channel 15. You may need to rescan you set top box to pick up this change.
