Movie Mix replaces The Big Deal

Interactive quiz channel The Big Deal has been replaced by a film channel known as Movie Mix.

Sky Thursdays on Pick TV from next week

Pick TV will start airing a new weekly programming block every Thursday for 12 weeks from next week.

Sky Thursdays launches on Pick TV on the 24th January acting as a showcase for Sky’s premium channels, similar to how they have done previously with their one-of Sky Weekend Pass weekends but in a regular slot each week instead.

The move is presumably a way for Sky to advertise their programmes to non-subscribers in a bid to drive up Sky subscriber numbers.

Programmes airing for free for the first time include Bradley Wiggins: A Year In Yellow, Elementary, Game Of Thrones, Modern Family, Treasure Island, Blue Bloods, Smash, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Dogs and An Idiot Abroad Series 2.

ITV1 has rebranded as ITV

A huge rebrand of the ITV network of channels has taken place today.

The changes see ITV1 renaming back to its original name of ITV (names for ITV2/3/4/CITV remain unchanged).

Your EPG will reflect the new channel name for ITV.

ITV1 HD has also been renamed as ITV HD as part of the rebrand, and ITV1 +1 has become ITV +1.

BBC One Scotland HD has launched

BBC One Scotland HD has launched today on Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat.

Scotland has always had the National version of BBC One HD since it launched – BBC One Scotland HD now replaces that channel in Scotland.

BBC One Wales HD will follow suit with a launch on the 29th January.

BBC One Northern Ireland launched last year, on the 24th October, following the end of digital switchover.

FX rebranded as Fox

FX has rebranded as Fox this week.

The channel will continue to show the same programmes as well as some new additions, and can still be found on Sky channel 124 and Virgin Media channel 157.

Fox is available in HD, as was FX, on those channel numbers for HD customers. Customers without HD will get the SD channels.

FX+ has rebranded as Fox +1 (the 1-hour timeshift version of the channel). The timeshift channel is still only available in SD.

Sky Movies 007 returns

Sky Movies 007 has returned to Sky channel 303 (in HD for customers who subscribe to the HD pack) and Virgin Media channel 433 following the closure of Sky Movies Christmas after the festive period.

The channel exclusively shows James Bond movies all day every day.
